| Walt's Hurricane This is Walt Wilson's IKON Northwest kit he reviewed for Model Airplane News in 1979. It has a fiberglass fuselage, 66" span, balsa-covered foam wings; Rom-Air pneumatic retracts, and is finished with Perfect Paints. It took the "Best Scale" trophy in the first WARBIRDS contest. It has a Super Tiger .60 and is under-powered at 13 pounds. He crashed it on takeoff at the contest but repaired it and flew again the next day. He didn't complete a single heat with it due to difficulty taking off in the grass and lack of power. It now hangs in his basement waiting for a larger engine and a little ambition. The P-40 is also Walt's.
