Motion was made and approved that a plan to establish a parking area east of the current parking lot that will accommodate vehicles with trailers, at a cost of $2850, was presented at the monthly meeting. Motion made and passed to accept the bid. Steve Adams has access to a dump truck to reduce the cost of hauling the rock. One of the pear trees was lost to high winds. Motion made and approved to replace the tree. Thanks to Ralph Grant, there is a freezer at the field. It keeps things cool and will freeze items placed nearest to the bottom. Try to keep it clean. The AMA grant request to help pay for tree trimming was denied.

Ă‚Â There were no reports of injuries.Ă‚Â
Membership Chairman’s Report
Ralph Doyle, Chairman
If a person asks if he can fly and is not a member, be sure to ask to see his AMA card. The PayPal system is available for you to renew your membership. The current membership now stands at 112. Last year the total of the year was 110. The members, at the March meeting, voted to allow current members of another club to join the Spirits at the reduced rate of $100 a year. Details were finalized by Ralph Grant among the clubs involved and we have our first “DUAL” member.
Old Business:
Except for the grant request denial, there was no old business. Remember the field is closed on Thursday’s when the mowers are cutting the grass.
New Business:
A company called Land Systems asked if they could test some optical ground based observation equipment at the field. If they show up, let them do their thing as long as it does not prohibit members from flying. Due to the bad weather the event scheduled for May 8th was cancelled. Also, there is a scheduling conflict with another club activities during the upcoming months. Access the schedule on the web site to update your event calendars. The next club meeting will be at the field June 8, at 7:00PM. The weather will be better so come early and get in a flight or two.
Presentations:
Greg Bowles gave away a Super Star to Steve Adams. Steve is looking to purchase a .40 size engine to power the model. Wayne Nenninger showed a mini-telemaster. Hiding behind the mask, Greg Bowles also rebuilt a 4-Star 40. I hope he races it at the next contest. Ă‚Â
