President Ralph Grant:
Meeting and Zoom called to order at 7:10 pm. Â
Attendance:
24 members and one ZOOM participant attended the meeting. Thanks to the leadership of Ralph Grant, this year the club already has 112 members which is more then all of last year which, in the same time frame, only had 99 members.
Secretary’s report:

Motion made, seconded and voted to accept the March minutes as posted on the web. The only communication was that the contract for mowing was signed.
Treasurer’s Report:
Steve Cross, Treasurer
The treasurer’s report for Feb. was available. The March report was read and accepted.
Field Committee Report:
Dave Brown, Chairman
The work party was attended by 16 members and all the tasks were accomplished. Dave Brown, by himself, repaired the axles (4 of them) on the roller! Motion was made and approved that a plan to establish a parking area east of the current parking lot that will accommodate vehicles with trailers will be presented at the next monthly meeting. Steve Adams has access to a dump truck to reduce the cost of hauling the rock. Grub killer was applied to the field and, by the looks of the dead grubs, it works very well. Hopefully, the mole population will suffer as well. The mowing contract was signed.
Safety Committee Report:

There were no reports of injuries.
Membership Chairman’s Report

If a person asks if he can fly and is not a member, be sure to ask to see his AMA card. The PayPal system is available for you to renew your membership. As mentioned above, the current membership now stands at 112. By the middle of April last year we had 99 members. The members, at the March meeting, voted to allow current members of another club to join the Spirits at the reduced rate of $100 a year. Details were finalized by Ralph Grant among the clubs involved and we have our first “DUAL” member.
Old Business:
The contract for three years with McGowen Lawn Care, LLC. was signed. Please refrain from flying when the mowers are cutting the grass.
New Business:
The next activity at the field is the SWAP MEET. Due to the weather forecast the meet will start at noon rather than the normal 8 AM start time. The next club meeting will be at the field May 11, at 7:00PM.
