Membership Chairman’s Report

Ralph Doyle, membership Chairman

If a person asks if he can fly and is not a member, be sure to ask to see his AMA card. The PayPal system is available for you to renew your membership. Note that 6 of the last 7 folks to join used PayPal. We currently have 110 renewed and new members. By the middle of July last year we had 112 members. It’s anticipated that several more folks plan on joining the club. A motion was made and approved to refund a new member his dues as he is moving out of town.

Old Business:

The club activities schedule was discussed. There are some changes to the activity schedule and they are listed on the web site. The closest activity to change is the 4-Star/warbird race previously scheduled for July 25th is now scheduled for August 1st and the jet time trials is now going to be held on the second of August. The swap meet will be held sometime in September.

New Business:

There was no new business

Technical Presentations:

Ralph Grant brought his new Saito 33R3 radial gas engine to show the club. He is going to install it in an 80″ GeeBee Z 30’s Racer most likely over the winter. It is swinging a Falcon Civilian propeller for break-in and will turn an 18-10 when its ready to roll. It is shown here with a Keleo ring exhaust system and is mounted on the Jim Grant (Ralphs Dad’s) custom built test stand. He will be breaking it in when it gets a little cooler out! The engine and exhaust will set you back about $1300 if your so inclined…
